Day For Night - These pictures were actually shot in broad daylight on a sunny day! The magazine wanted a night-time look and thought we'd have to hang around 'til dusk once the shot was set up, food prepared etc. But with electronic flash synchronisation at 500th second and a few thousand joules blasting through their delicate antique lanterns, it was a wrap by mid-afternoon! I couldn't see what any of the lighting was doing, (as the sunlight made the modelling lights almost non-existent), but lit it Braille style, using the Polaroids as my only guide and adjusting accordingly..
